Blessed with Babies

My extended family are blessed this year. Truly blessed. We are expecting two grandbabies. One on the Donaldson side, the other on the Munro side. Baby Donaldson will be Grandbaby number 5. Baby Munro, will be Grandbaby number one to my gorgeous Aunty Gloria, and would be my Grandparents seventh Great Grandchild. (You can guarentee the number of rainbows painted recently will be because of their excitment in this approaching little bundle.)

So, in anticipation of these two precious arrivals my crochet hook has been red hot in my hand these past weeks. Below are pictures of both blankets... Both neutral...awaiting the best surprise ever!

We were talking after dinner tonight about how Aunty Debs is having a baby very soon. Who thought girl... who thought boy.... Macie firmly on the pink side... Cullen, in all his nearly 6 wisdom said. "I think it will be a boy or a girl, cos then either way, I'm right!"
Can't fault that logic. A xx

Making with Macie

My little poppet is addicted to scissors - cutters - as she calls them. She loves to cut up paper, wool, fabric.. even a small section of her hair. I have been putting aside small pieces of fabric for her and we now have about half an ice cream container of assorted colours and patterns. The other obsession she has, that goes hand in hand with cutting, is glue and cellotape. Recently we spent an afternoon making a fabric collage. Such fun, plenty of cutting and glueing involved.

This morning, during a wee visit to the $2 shop, I found these little people.

I decided to throw caution to the wind and got her a little pair of scissors all of her own too.

At home we found a brand new glue stick, got out the fabric and the scrap wool and set to work creating a wee family for Macie. Here she is....

Here is most of the family:

Such a fun activity to do together.. and there a few more people left over to create some rellies another time. She thinks they are pretty neat! A x
